Ways to wasteless#18:
Reinvent something you don't want:

Response 12: Cat toy
I felt bad for leaving meezer alone all the time, while I was working, so I made him this toy by putting catnip in an old cleaning rag (since I wouldn't be cleaning any time soon, anyway). When I got home at 4:30 in the morning, he was passed out on the couch and he had chewed a hole thru the rag. Oh, meez!

Response 11: Shower cap food cover
I have a collection of shower caps, mainly stolen for hotels and such, that I keep in my kitchen to cover leftovers, when I put them in the fridge.

Response 10: Summer toolbelt
When you cut your pants off into shorts, tie a string through the leftover pant leg to make a tool belt to hold your ipod, cell phone, pens, xacto knives, note pads, and other tools.

Response06: New uses for peeps
I always end up with extra peeps after Easter. Here are some new ways I found to make them useful, once i get sick of eating them. The hard sugar coating actually prevents the marshmallowy middle from breaking down, so they can potentially last forever, as long as they don't get wet.

Response 05: Make beautiful reform.

Response 04: Poler ode
I'm a huge fan of taking Polaroid pictures, each one which I keep likea precious piece of instant art. But it annoys me that every time I'm done with a pack of 10 that there's this huge honking piece of plastic and metal housing that I have to throw away. So instead, I put one of my freshly photographed works in the container (perfectly-sized!) and use it as an instant frame.

Response 03: Fancy Shmancy
I used to love getting those cheap plastic rings out of gumball
machines, but now they're just taking up space on my tchotchke shelf. So now I use them for dinner parties, where my student-budget can't afford much more than the free napkins from the cafeteria. It gives the meal a little bit of class and color.

Response 02: Handmade Letter
I wanted to send Teira a letter instead of emailing her. I wrote it with this broken keyboard. watch video

Response 01: Box Monster
I ordered a guide book to South East Asia that came in this box three times the size of the book. Julie and I put these clothes on it early one morning.
